Have you noticed all the people now a days that use the phrase "sort of"? It is used often so quickly that it is barely distiguishable. I used to think it was Pittsburghian jargon and a bit cute, but today realized that it is outward utterance of a weak mamby-pamby unable to come down on one side of an issue.
The phrase is weak. It grays out the truth. It is ambiguous. I suppose it is used to make the user sound more intelligent, more thoughtful, a step up on the morality chain.
Uh uh.
It sounds like a new moderate catch phrase. Ticks me off.

Are you just sort of ticked off or REALLY ticked off? LOL
Kathy
